Statistical Information on Cardiovascular Disease in the UK

New figures from Public Health England (PHE) reveal that diseases caused by high blood pressure are estimated to cost the NHS over £2 billion every year.  Read the press release issued in conjunction with the Tackling high blood pressure: from evidence into action report.

In the Department of Health's 2010 'Health Survey for England' the prevalence of hypertension in adults of 16 years or older was 31.5% in men and 29.0% in women.
